CD RELEASES

The new music released on November 11th is a collection of original songs in a variety of styles, including folk, gospel, rockabilly, swamp pop and swing. She takes listeners to Denmark, Ireland, New Orleans, New York and Memphis introducing them to real folks she has written about. Famous and regular folks. Living and deceased folks. Uplifting and heartbreaking folks. Ordinary and extraordinary folks. Politicians, musicians, rhetoricians, people in transitions, and folks on a mission. Everybody’s got a story to tell.

"Clever and funny writing." Pat Bergeson - Nashville

SONGS

"Irish Bayou is Tara O'Grady's love letter to New Orleans."

Sharon Armstrong - 90.7 WWOZ, New Orleans

Inspired by her numerous trips to NOLA, Tara composed a handful of original songs in gumbo of genres, from zydeco and rockabilly, to folk, funk, jazz and blues.

As New Orleans native and Queens, NYC resident Louis Armstrong once said, "All music is folk music, I ain't never heard a horse sing a song."

Voted Irish Voice's Top 10 Albums of 2013.

"Along with Madeleine Peyroux, Tara O'Grady is one of Billie Holiday's daughters."

John Platt - 90.7 WFUV, New York

"An absurdly talented troubadour. Her marvelous anthem to Belfast captures the verve and vivacity of the future Belfast and deserves to be sung everywhere the craic is celebrated."

Mairtin O Muilleoir - Lord Mayor of Belfast

"Very refreshing. Excellent backing band. We'll all be hearing more from and about Tara O'Grady in the coming months."

Desmond Carrington - BBC Radio 2, UK

Recorded in Nashville, Tara's sophomore cd brings out the blues in her soul.

"She is as contemporary as she is classical in her style and sensibilities, and while she wears her influences on her sleeve, right next to her heart, there is something so real and true in her voice that it feels like time has been transcended."

- Will Viharo, Los Angelos

‘’A sparkling collection of Irish songs that  still exude the atmosphere of Ireland, but they have taken on an American accent, like fully integrated immigrants, in Tara O'Grady’s jazz and blues rendition.’’

Martin Overheul - Altcountryforum, Belgium

Includes the Irish classics - Danny Boy, I'll Tell Me Ma, Black Velvet Band, Wild Rover, The Water is Wide, Peggy Gordon, The Holy Ground, Nora and Molly Malone.

SINGLE!

Oh Mo Chroi (Oh My Heart) is Tara's single inspired by Ireland's historic marriage equality vote in 2015. Ireland is the first country to have its people vote YES to equality. In the end, LOVE won. Love will always win!

90.7 WFUV's John Platt calls it "Tasty!"
